The discovery of laser brought revolutionary changes in all branches of science and technology.Lasers are used in almost every field.They are applied in entertainment electronics,industrial electronics,communication,mechanical working,medical fields and even in warfare to guide missiles to targets.The common applications of lasers are as follows;
1. Low power semi conductor lasers are used in CD players,laser copier etc...
2. Laser can be used for drilling fine holes on hard material and welding and cutting hard metals.
3. The laser is used to vaporize unwanted material during the manufacture of electronic circuits on semi conductor chips
4. CO2 laser of about 100W output are helpful in bloodless surgery because they seal small blood vessel while cutting through tissue by vaporizing water in the path of the beam.
5. Lasers are used to detect and destroy enemy missiles.
6.Semiconductor laser are widely used in optical communication.
7. High power laser are used to bring about 10^8 K
